Before telling you about our experience, I will answer a question that many people ask themselves: what exactly is a rail bike?
Imagine a small pedal-powered wagon running on disused SNCF railway tracks, specially refurbished for the occasion. It can carry up to four people: two who pedal and two who enjoy the scenery. And of course, you can swap roles along the way.
Our adventure on the rails
On the day of our test, we were lucky to have the weather on our side. After a few simple explanations, we set off. With a few turns of the pedals, we got the hang of it. It's simple, fun, and you feel a bit like an adventurer setting off on an expedition, crisscrossing old railroad tracks.
We chose to take it easy so we could enjoy the wooded landscapes, but it was easy to pick up the pace a little at times. The miles flew by without us even noticing, we were having so much fun.

Back in Joiselle, our adventure continues. We recharge our batteries under the awning before enjoying a quick game of pétanque with friends on the court. Right next door, young people are having fun on the soccer and volleyball fields.

We still have energy left, so we decide to try out the 1.3 km off-road quadricycle circuit. It's much more strenuous than the rail bike, but also a lot of fun.
Verdict? We approve 100%!
It's an activity that's accessible to everyone, combining nature, physical exercise, and fun. You'll leave with a smile on your face, a little tired but above all delighted to have rediscovered the landscapes of the Marne in a different way.
