Exhibition at the Château de la Motte Tilly

From May 23 to September 20, 2026, the Château de La Motte-Tilly invites you to explore the exhibition “The Lady of La Motte-Tilly—The Marquise de Maillé in the Service of Cultural Heritage.”

Marking the 130th anniversary of her birth and the 80th anniversary of her appointment as head of the Foundation for the Preservation of French Art, this anniversary exhibition pays tribute to the Marquise de Maillé, the château’s last owner and a discreet yet essential figure in the preservation of French cultural heritage.

Guided throughout her life by a desire to preserve and pass on, she wanted to make the château a living place, where every visitor could feel much more than mere curiosity: the sense of a presence, as if time had been delicately suspended there.

A moving and fascinating exhibition that invites visitors to rediscover the story of a dedicated woman, set in a place steeped in history.

The exhibition is open only as part of a guided tour (Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays). Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
