from the southwestern part of the Marne department

We tested it for you: the Haute Seine Canal road bike route!

Summer is finally here, and so are bike rides again!

This 17-kilometer-long road bike route in the Marne department passes through 8 municipalities and is part of the V33 national route, which connects Le Havre to Troyes. It’s a true treasure trove of biodiversity!

Starting from Marcilly-Sur-Seine, we hopped on our electric bikes and began following the bike path to Conflans-Sur-Seine.

What could be more pleasant than the peace and quiet of an effortless bike ride along the canal!

On that beautiful, sunny day, we were able to enjoy the shaded spots as well as the diverse flora and fauna along the bike path.

Halfway between Marcilly-Sur-Seine and Conflans-Sur-Seine, we came across hundreds of frogs—what a symphony of sounds! Many other species find refuge here as well. With a little patience, you can spot the common tern, the kingfisher, and even the marsh harrier.

Once we arrived in Conflans-Sur-Seine, we were able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the picnic area and sample some products from local producers in the southwestern Marne region. It was the perfect time to relax (and take a nap).

We invite you to come and discover the rare and protected species found in these wet meadows.

Don't have a bike? We offer electric bike rentals year-round at the Tourist Office.
